Good Day parents.
I wanted to take a moment to let you know about some exciting news regarding our food program here at preschool.
As of last week I have contracted with Farm fresh to You to deliver fresh organic California grown (whenever available) produce. They provide a variety of different options. This allows the children to try a variety of fruit and vegetables. Daily snack is served with fruit and lunch is served with a vegetable.
For more information about this program you can check out wwww.Farmfreshtoyou.com
I have attached the choices as well as our lunch and snack menu to this posting.

We want your child to have healthy choices here at school. We serve whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. We always discuss making healthy choices and encourage children to try new foods. The preschool years are the optimal time to instill good eating habits in children. Even if children refuse many foods the act of simply offering and allowing choice allows for positive associations with food. Occasionally a child will refuse all of one type of food such as vegetables or meat. When this happens we have to understand that children’s tastes are much more sensitive than that of an adult. Children are also more sensitive to textures and may have aversions to differences in food. Always continue to offer a variety of foods because you never know when they might decide to try something. Food issues are often the root of power struggles with children. One thing to remember as the parent: it is your job to offer healthy food to your child. It is his/her choice to eat the food offered. Eating is one of the few instances that children have control over. Take away the power struggle and have a much happier healthy mealtime. When you eat with your child you are setting an excellent example of your expectations and routines.
